CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY IN TOMSK CITY, RUSSIA

On June 21, 2015 the whole world was celebrating the first International Yoga Day. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, initiated the celebrations in India at the crack of dawn . India had initiated the proposal of celebrating Yoga day in UN in 2014. On December, 12 the resolution was taken, which stated that yoga provides for integrated approach to health and welfare. During his visit in May to Tomsk Mr. P.S. Raghavan, Ambassador of India to Russia, had proposed to celebrate International Yoga Day in Tomsk city,as part of the celebrations in various other cities of Russia.

A congregation of about 100 people gathered in the open air on the square of Tomsk Drama Theatre where leading instructors of Tomsk yoga centers gave master classes. The performances of “yogis” of all ages, from children to seniors, were shown on stage, and their achievements in the area of physical development once again proved that yoga can engage everyone,anywhere, regardless of age and nation.

A delegation of specialists of Imperial Energy   participated in  the master classes given by trainers of yoga centers in Tomsk. Citizens interacted with Indian specialists expressing their delight and  appreciated  India for promotion of yoga in other countries, and exchanged their experiences in learning different Yoga practices.
