Good deeds

On 3 April, representatives of Imperial Energy visited the Tomsk Regional Branch of the All-Russian Society of the Blind. This public organisation, uniting over a thousand visually impaired residents of the region – both children and adults – has long received our charitable support. This year marks a full decade since our company became one of its friends and helpers!

Over the years, funded by IE and in response to the organisation’s requests, we have provided table tennis tables designed for visually impaired people, and game accessories (special rackets, balls, and blindfolds), financed tactile information signs for office doors, and purchased new furniture for several groups at Kindergarten No. 99 in Tomsk, attended by children with visual impairments, among other initiatives.

For the April meeting, our delegation – including General Director A.V. Baklanov and IE’s senior Indian executives – arrived with another gift: a tabletop bowling game designed for those without full sight. A.S. Kireyev, Head of the Tomsk Branch of ARSOB, warmly thanked the guests for this valuable present, which will aid motor skills and spatial orientation while enriching leisure activities. He also detailed the organisation’s support programmes, events, and key challenges faced by the visually impaired community in Tomsk. His account resonated deeply with our Indian executives, who asked numerous questions and shared insights about India’s support systems for the visually disabled. Guests also observed craft and dumpling-making workshops, engaging with participants. The heartfelt meeting concluded constructively with IE reaffirming its commitment to ongoing support.
